Letter from the Executive Director
The holiday season is a time for family, friends, and reflection. As we ramp up for this holiday season, preparing for our Thanksgiving Community Day Dinner, Holiday Wonder Lane Event, End-of-Year appeal, and all the excitement that comes with the holiday season, I reflect on our year thus far.
The year began by being named Non-Profit of the Year by the Community Foundation. Then we celebrated another big win when we received a significant appropriation from the State Legislator to expand our Co-Responder Program. In September, we celebrated 50 years of service in Marion County and had a successful Give4Marion Campaign. Not to mention all of the achievements in between.
I share this with you not to be boastful of our success, but rather as an opportunity to appreciate the hard work of those who support Marion Senior Services, and our clients through their time, talent, and treasures. None of this is possible without the support and love of our community, dedicated staff, volunteers, and stakeholders. As I look into the future, I am excited about what is in store for our Agency over the next 50 years, and I hope you will be there to support us along the way.
I can’t help but think about our many sweet clients who are alone during the holidays. Unfortunately, many individuals are not fortunate to have family and friends around during the holiday, especially the elderly.
If you are interested in supporting our clients in any way during this Holiday Season, please consider reaching out to our office. (352) 352-620-3501.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Martinez, Executive Director
